It's like this: You come home from CRACK! and you're happy. A little bit like you're still on CRACK! mentally. This happiness lasts for a few weeks sometimes. It's not that you want to go back but more like you never really left the Forte. The rest of the year you do what you can to make the rest of the world a better place. Around December usually, you start thinking about going back. A feeling that gets more intense as June gets closer. You start to plan for the next one, try to think of a bigger, better contribution. You want to return to the family, return home. CRACK! is the real world, the rest is just inbetween.

[ITA] Per la 7. Berlin Biennale, il curatore Artur Żmijewski ha dato origine a uno spazio politico dove esplorare gli effetti dell’arte nella società e le connessioni con le situazioni sociali e politiche attuali. In questo scenario, l’Istituto Svizzero di Roma e altre istituzioni artistiche europee che condividono questo approccio sono stati invitati a intraprendere “azioni di solidarietà” in accordo con il tema della BB7, con l’obiettivo di rendere visibile una rete di organismi che agiscano in vari paesi, in solidarietà tra loro e con la Biennale. Dal 4 giugno al 20 luglio, nell'ambito della Solidarity Action promossa dall'Istituto Svizzero di Roma, verrà presentato il Congresso dei Disegnatori. L'avvio del Congresso dei Disegnatori vedrà coinvolti, il giorno 4 giugno dalle ore 18.00 alla mezzanotte nella sede dell'Istituto Svizzero di Roma in Via Liguria 20.

La 7. Berlin Biennale si svolge dal 27 aprile al 1° luglio 2012 ed è curata da Artur Żmijewski insieme agli Associate Curators Voina e Joanna Warsza. La Biennale è organizzata da KW Institute for Contemporary Art con il patrocinio di Kulturstiftung des Bundes (German Federal Cultural Foundation).

[ENG] For the 7th Berlin Biennale, the curator Artur Żmijewski has created a political space in which to explore the effects of art in the society and the connections with today’s social and political situations. In this setting, the Istituto Svizzero di Roma and other European art institutions that share this approach have been invited to activate “solidarity actions” in keeping with the theme of BB7, with the aim of making a network of organisms operating in different countries visible, in solidarity between them and with the Biennale. From 4 June to 20 July, in the context of the Solidarity Action undertaken by Istituto Svizzero di Roma, the Draftsmen’s Congress will be presented. The launch of the Draftsmen’s Congress, on the 4th of June, from 6.00 p.m. to noon at Istituto Svizzero di Roma at Via Liguria 20.

The 7th Berlin Biennale takes place from 27 April to 1 July 2012, and is curated by Artur Żmijewski together with the Associate Curators Voina and Joanna Warsza.
